Mandate

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and as parents God has given us the responsibility to educate and train our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. (Psalm 111:10, Ephesians 6:4)

Christian Home Educators of Saskatoon and Surrounding (C.H.E.S.S.) exists to help educate and promote the effective training of our children. We are volunteers that seek to connect, support and help equip those who are involved in Christian home education in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and surrounding areas. Our approach to home education is decidedly from a Christian perspective. Our desire is to see strong families built by encouraging the home education of our children.

It is our hope and prayer that C.H.E.S.S. will be a blessing to you and your family as you seek to home educate your children.

Statement of Faith

*We believe the Bible is the infallible, innerant word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)

*We believe there is one God, as proclaimed in Deuteronomy 6:4, “Hear, O Israel the Lord our God, the Lord is one.”

* We believe that Jesus is the Messiah promised by God through the prophets (Isaiah 53). He came to earth, was born in Israel among the Jews, lived a sinless life, and gave his own life for a sacrificial offering (Micah 5:2, Luke 2:1-7, 2 Corinthians 5:21).

* We believe the Holy Spirit dwells with each believer and enables them to live godly lives.

* Everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:22-24). Jesus is the only one who delivers us from sin. Salvation and righteousness before God are based only on personal acceptance of Jesus atonement for our sins. (Romans 1:16). Salvation is by grace through Christ alone. It is a gift no one can earn.
